RAIN:

RAIN
1991 - March 2009

My dear friends and family,

My dear, sweet, beautiful cat, Rain died tonight. She was seventeen years old. I adopted her when she was approximately seven months old.

She lived a great life with very little health problems. For the past few months her health and quality of life had been rapidly declining. I told her it was okay to go and that I would be fine. We had lived a great seventeen years together. Tonight she passed away lying in the bed between my husband and I. If there was one person Rain loved more than me it was my husband. I cannot tell you how much she adored him.

I am so thankful for her long, healthy, loving existence in my life. She was a gentle soul and I can’t begin to tell you how many times her cute little meow or her little kisses (she loved to give them and get them) comforted me and gave me joy. She will be missed more than I can even imagine at this moment.

In memory of Rain, aka Raindrops, aka my Rainy Day Girl - May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

- Melanie and Chester
